About the Author
Mark Gamboa is a policy analyst by training and a political researcher by profession. He has extensive experience in working with officials from the private sector, the non-government organizations, the military and government institutions in developing strategic and sustainable solutions to complex political, military and socio-economic predicaments.
Mark became a researcher in October 2006, handling political and security analysis. During that time frame, he monitored key political developments and assessed the underlying stories behind every relevant news. Working with people from civilian and military background, Mark was also instrumental in developing analysis on the political and socioeconomic dynamics of the Philippines during election season. His analyses led to several recommendations, some of which have been implemented, affecting the political affairs in the national sphere.
Mark worked as an Analyst in Political Research and Information Management Experts (P.R.I.M.E.) Corporation. He initiated countryside and personality exploratory studies concerning voting and other social patterns, and explored relative electoral “winnability”. He also wrote countryside and provincial profile for select areas in the country.
Mark is currently a Political Affairs Officer of the House of Representatives. He is serving the Chairman of the Committee on Public Order and Safety and the Vice-Chairman of Committee on Justice. He also sits as a member of the Technical Committee on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice of the National Police Commission. Beyond his legislative duties, he also works as a freelance researcher specializing in politics, defense and military affairs. He is also into political intelligence, strategy formulation, and policy analysis. He also offers freelance research and writing services to non-political clients.
Mark Gamboa is a product of the Philippine public school system. He graduated with honors from elementary and secondary schools in Baliuag, Bulacan. He later studied in the University of the Philippines Diliman, finishing Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration offered under the National College of Public Administration and Governance in 2006.
